Dragomir Ivicevic

b. Yugoslavia, 1932

Dragomir Ivicevic began his design studies at the High School for Industrial Design in Belgrade and, after graduating in 1969, continued at the Academy of Applied Art. Benefiting from the Academy’s interdisciplinary program of furniture design, architecture, art history, mathematics, and philosophy, Ivicevic established DI Research and Design in New York in 1982. He later earned a masters degree in industrial design from Ohio State University.

Ivicevic incorporated his holistic view of design into the Parachute Chair for Knoll, introduced in 1993.
