GDEI
The Green Design Education Initiative (GDEI) is a comprehensive reference website for interior design and facility management professionals. Launched in November 2002, it is a consortium project of Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and Metropolis Magazine.
The goal of the GDEI is to gather, share and disseminate information about green/sustainable design. In addition to providing a reference resource for practicing professionals, it is developing course material to aid in the education of future professionals. Using materials gathered on the website, the GDEI plans to produce a comprehensive teaching manual on sustainable design by fall of 2003.
