With its lightweight, inventive use of materials to deliver performance, MultiGeneration is sustainably designed.
Manufacturing
MultiGeneration is assembled in our LEED® Gold and ISO 14001 Certified Lubin Manufacturing Facility using clean technologies:
- No ozone-destroying chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
- Hot melt adhesive process is 99% VOC-free
- Metal powder-coating processes 99% VOC free
- Chrome processes meet Knoll Design for the Environment Guidelines, SMaRT© Safe for Public Health and Environment requirements and the BIFMA level™ 3 standard
- Returnable packaging is used for chair component parts
- 100% of electricity used at the site is offset by wind energy
Materials
- Constructed using minimal materials
- Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) free
- Powder coat paint and chrome processes meet Knoll Design for the Environment Guidelines
- Seat foam is 7% biobased content on average
- Available with 20+ environmental fabrics from KnollTextiles, which are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and can be cleaned with low environmental impact cleaning fluids, including GS-37 certified products
- Recycled and recyclable content varies by model

standard that measures a product’s environmental, economic and social benefits over its life cycle and throughout its global supply
