Knoll Hosts Culture Lab Detroit Reception with Architect David Adjaye

Knoll hosted a Culture Lab Detroit reception with David Adjaye, designer of the Washington Collection for Knoll™, on April 24, 2014 at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Culture Lab Detroit 2014, held April 24 – 26, focused on regenerative design in urban areas.

The reception, which included a display of David Adjaye’s Washington Skeleton™ Chairs, was followed by a panel discussion to celebrate culture, creativity and possibility for Detroit. In addition to David Adjaye, the panel included commentary by Fernando and Humberto Campana and Theaster Gates, moderated by David Stark.

Culture Lab Detroit, in partnership with Detroit Creative Corridor Center and the College for Creative Studies, is a catalyst for conversations and collaborations between Detroit's artists, designers, technologists, and the larger design world.

Culture Lab Detroit, founded by Jane Schulak in partnership with the Detroit Creative Corridor Center and in collaboration with the College for Creative Studies, is a catalyst for conversations and collaborations, and a platform for engaging world-class design and entrepreneurial talent in a series of thoughtful discussions to stimulate new relationships and deeper connections between Detroit and the international community of designers and innovators, with the goal of increasing awareness and the imprint of Detroit's creative community internationally.
