Knoll Luxe Launches a New Collection of Fashion Forward Fabrics for Summer 2014

NEW YORK, New York, June 17, 2014 – Knoll Luxe introduces a new collection from KnollTextiles creative director Dorothy Cosonas consisting of four upholsteries and two draperies that embody classic modern luxury. Each year, Knoll Luxe presents a new line of fashion-forward textiles.

“For this most recent Luxe collection, I looked towards the classic aesthetic of Florence Knoll for inspiration, as well as outside our world to a pioneer in the fashion industry: the late Alexander McQueen," says Cosonas. "I focused on textiles with rich textures, clear colors and modern patterns."

Upholstery

Arezzo
Arezzo is an artisanal velvet upholstery that was inspired by a retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the work of the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. This large scale pattern was created by marrying computer driven printing and hand manipulation. The end result is a random pattern where no two yards are alike. Dorothy gave the mill four pantone chips to create each colorway. Arezzo is 72% Viscose, 21% Cotton, 7% Polyester. Exceeds 50,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek

Duchess
Duchess has a classic all-over texture created by combining a novelty wool yarn with a cotton chenille that are equally distributed in the warp and weft. Comes in 6 colorways, made of 57% Cotton, 25% Wool, 18% Acrylic. Exceeds 30,000 Martindale.

Hastings
This organic plaid combines a sophisticated texture with a refined wool hand. This pattern, which comes in six colorways, is classic yet still speaks to today’s modern interior. Hastings is 85% Wool, 8% Nylon, 7% Polyester. Exceeds 40,000 double rubs Martindale

Tosca
Tosca is made of luscious velvet with a rich, dense pile. The combination of cotton and wool on the face creates a luxe hand that is also very durable. Available in eight colorways, it is notable to mention that velvet has taken a front seat in fashion and interiors of late. Tosca is 70% Cotton, 18% Polyester, 12% Wool. Drapery

Dorset
This classic heathered drapery, available in five colorways, has a soft hand and a subtle satin weave. It drapes effortlessly, adding timeless beauty and luxury to any interior. Made of 64% Wool, 36% Polyester.

Kent
This elegant open weave drapery combines an intriguing hand of lambswool with a hint of shimmer, created through a specialized metallic fiber. Available in five colorways, Kent is made of 88% Lambswool, 8% Viscose, 4% Metallic Fiber.
