KnollTextiles Recognized by Contract, Interior Design and Metropolis at NeoCon 2014

June 25, 2014

New collections from KnollTextiles, including the Spirit Collection, the Archival Collection and the Nexus Collection, were honored by Contract magazine, Interior Design magazine and Metropolis this year at NeoCon.

Best of NeoCon Awards: The Spirit Collection, a mix of upholstery, wall covering, privacy/drapery curtains and panel fabrics earned a Best of NeoCon Gold award for Healthcare Textiles.

KnollTextiles also received a Best of NeoCon Silver award for the Archival Collection, which previewed at NeoCon and will be available in the Spring of 2015. The five upholstery fabrics, designed by Dorothy Cosonas, have been sourced from the KnollTextiles archives and build on the company’s rich history spanning 65+ years. The historic fabrics are a source of design inspiration and color work, used as a jumping off point to create textiles that are relevant for today’s interior designer. The collection draws upon the work of multiple designers across many decades, including KnollTextiles’s founder, Florence Knoll.

Presented by Contract Magazine, the Best of NeoCon competition honors new products introduced to the U.S. market. Jurors are corporate, government, and institutional facilities executives, who are members of IFMA; and interior designers/architects who are members of IIDA.

“Metropolis Likes” Award: The Nexus Collection from KnollTextiles, a new collection of commercial wallcoverings designed in collaboration with artist Kari Pei, was presented with the “Metropolis Likes” award from Metropolis magazine. The Nexus Collection is a series of visually textural wallcoverings, which appears almost three-dimensional.

The awards are given to the top spaces, products, and ideas that Metropolis editors really "like" at NeoCon, in integrated social media coverage known as “Metropolis Likes.”

Interior Design HIP Award: KnollTextiles was awarded two HONOREE HIP Awards – one for Design Solution On the Wall Award for the Nexus Collection and the other for Design for use of Color for Tower Grid upholstery.

The HIP Awards honors commercial industry pioneers and achievement in design solutions and product applications.
