SUNO Collection for Knoll Luxe Receives 2013 GOOD DESIGN™ Award

December 20, 2013

KnollTextiles is the recipient of the 2013 GOOD DESIGN™ Award from The Chicago Athenaeum, an International Museum of Architecture and Design.

The Collection debuted at NeoCon 2013, where it also received a Best of NeoCon Award. The new collection consists of seven upholsteries and two draperies inspired by recent looks from the runway: Arber, Besos, Diamond Days, Matondoni, Millicent, Olema, Piper, Rosemond, and Rutledge. The patterns are based on designs from five runway collections from 2010-2013. Inspiration for each pattern draws from global sources, from Indian embroidery, to vintage Japanese origami paper, to the Africa Kanga.

The historic GOOD DESIGN™ program was founded in 1950 with the participation of some of America's most important designers, including Eero Saarinen, Florence Knoll, Harry Bertoia, Alexander Girard and Russel Wright. Awards are given to designers and manufacturers for advancing new and innovative product concepts that stretch the envelope beyond what is considered standard product and consumer design.
