The New York Times features Eero Saarinen: Furniture for Everyman, a new book that highlights the Finnish architect's furniture designs, including those for Knoll, on September 26, 2012.
Rima Suqi, of The New York Times notes, "Among the plethora of monographs available on decorative objects, one subject has been overlooked: the furniture designs of Eero Saarinen."
Author, Brian Lutz, whose work on Knoll: A Modernist Universe was praised by The New York Times in 2010, commented that while the architectural projects of Saarinen have been covered there is "only the occasional reference — often inaccurate — to his furniture."
Research for Eero Saarinen: Furniture for Everyman, which spanned 10 years, "involved numerous conversations with important figures in the production and development of Saarinen's furniture, including Florence Knoll Bassett, Niels Diffrient and Don Albinson."
The book, which will be officially released on October 16, 2012, features a preface by Florence Knoll Bassett in addition to a "foreword by Mr. Diffrient and more than 200 photographs and illustrations."
