KnollStudio to Introduce New Designs by Ross Lovegrove at NeoCon 2007
May 8, 2007
NEW YORK, NY, May 8—KnollStudio, renowned for its collection of classic and enduring designs, will introduce a new collection of tables and storage by Ross Lovegrove, to debut at NeoCon 2007, the Chicago contract furniture industry trade exposition taking place June 11-13.

Recognized for forward-thinking, organically-inspired products shaped in innovative materials, Ross Lovegrove achieves a new level of clarity with this collection for KnollStudio, incorporating both traditional and cutting-edge materials to shape pieces that are at once sculptural and practical. The collection is designed for private offices, meeting and collaborative areas in the workplace as well as for the home and home office.

"My work for Knoll offers dynamic structure and visual energy, exploring the relationship between materials, technology and form," said Lovegrove.

An assortment of tables, credenzas and personal storage make up the Collection, which is a unique spin on furniture for the executive office category, explained Liz Needle, Senior Vice President, KnollStudio.

"Lovegrove's designs draw and develop upon the model first established by Florence Knoll in the 1940s, when she designed the first modern private offices," added Needle.

Lovegrove takes this paradigm into the twenty-first century, striking a balance between traditional bent steel tubing and radically innovative finishes, including a translucent honeycomb material for the worksurface. Bright jewel colors, painted glass and bamboo add a touch of the designer's personal mode of expression.

KnollStudio's introduction of the Lovegrove Collection follows an exhibition of the designer's recent work at Philips de Pury and Company, Endurance, which was on view March 21 - April 4, 2007.

Table Desks

Lovegrove tables are constructed in varying sizes and shapes with a range of edge details and finish options. Table top options reflect the designer's vast knowledge of materials, which include honeycomb Panelite™ tops in varying colors, bamboo, Corian®, marble and glass. Lovegrove's signature tubular steel base designs in a variety of shapes and colors reflect the spirit of Modernist design. Versatile in scope, table desks can be specified to suit a variety of contract and residential applications.

Tri-Oval Low Tables

Symbolic of Lovegrove's passion for organic, fluid design, the tri-oval coffee table employs a gracefully-curved, single piece of tubular steel. Tri-oval tables can be used as coffee tables or as pull-up low surfaces next to executive table desks. These tables are available in a variety of base and top finishes.

Credenzas

The elegant radius-cut corners of the Lovegrove credenzas demonstrate the designer's affinity for fluid designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical in application. Available in a wide variety of finishes, these credenzas are an ideal companion to the Lovegrove table desks, either in a corporate setting or as stand-alone units in residential applications.
