Bard Graduate Center Previews Exhibition on KnollTextiles and New Knoll Luxe Collection at International Design Fair in New York
October 3, 2008
The Bard Graduate Center hosted an exhibition examining the history of KnollTextiles and presenting new designs by Proenza Schouler for Knoll Luxe on Friday at the 2008 International Art and Design Fair in New York City. The show, which is on view at the Park Avenue Armory, will be on view from Friday (10/3) through Wednesday (10/8).

Organized by the independent curator Mary Schoeser, KnollTextiles: The Designer's Vision offers a brief history of the influence of fashion design on KnollTextiles upholstery fabrics. It also presents new work by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler and Dorothy Cosonas for Knoll Luxe, which was launched earlier this Spring.

The exhibition is a sneak preview of a larger show to take place at the Bard Graduate Center in Spring 2010.

An accompanying catalogue features an essay, "Knoll: Furnishing Textiles in the Clothing context," by Schoeser. The full article can be downloaded below.

The New York Times also mentioned the exhibit in the Art and Design section of its October 2 issue. The article, "Classic Modern: 20th-Century Antiques," reviews highlights from the Fair.
