On November 20, 2008, over 300 Knoll associates, customers and members of the Atlanta design community celebrated the opening of the new Knoll Atlanta showroom. Located in the City's Westside Provision District, the showroom occupies space in a new mixed-use development that includes the renovation of the historic White Provision building.
Commenting on the celebration, Knoll Atlanta Regional Manager, Janet Miller, said, "It was a pleasure welcoming the Atlanta design community and our corporate, healthcare and academic customers to our new showroom and workplace, which reflects the Knoll standard for sustainable design."
The new space features enhanced resources for the design community in Atlanta and showcases the range of workplace and residential products from Knoll, including office systems, ergonomic seating, casegoods and storage, KnollStudio furniture, KnollTextiles and Knoll Luxe. Its design follows a set of principles established by Florence Knoll in the 1940s, when she designed the first Knoll showrooms. Her reductive aesthetic incorporated light, open spaces furnished with elegant woven fabrics, furniture grouped for informal conversation and brightly colored wall panels.
In addition, Knoll Atlanta reinforces the Company's focus on environmental sustainability. The showroom is pending LEED-CI certification, an appropriate complement to the ambitious environmental program at Knoll and its modern portfolio of furnishings that inspire, evolve and endure.
