East Greenville, PA, June 3, 2009KnollStudio, renowned for its collection of classic and enduring designs for the workplace and the home, introduces the Jehs+Laub Lounge Collection. The Collection will debut at NeoCon 2009, the Chicago contract furniture industry trade exposition taking place June 15-17.
Inspired by traditional quilting, the Jehs+Laub Collectionwhich includes a Lounge Chair and accompanying Ottomanoffers a tactile dialogue between functional form and sculptural shape. Compromised of block patterns that are joined and completed with a surrounding border, it weds craftsmanship with distinctive style.
"The Jehs+Laub Collection extends our tradition of combining a Modernist aesthetic for the workplace with residential appeal," said Benjamin Pardo, Knoll Director of Design. "This point of view, nurtured by Florence Knoll, is a hallmark of Knoll design," he added.
The Collection is appropriate as a statement piece for reception areas, private offices, break areas or residences, offering a welcoming retreat whether one is working, relaxing or even napping. Its comforting shape and cushioned facets are inviting yet supportive.
The upholstery process used to create the Jehs+Laub Collection utilizes hidden seam tufting, a technique which creates a clean, tufted surface without the need for traditional welts or buttons.
KnollTextiles and Spinneybeck leathers provide a range of upholstery options. Two base styles are available for the Chair and Ottoman: a polished aluminum swivel base or a polished chrome wire-frame. Bases are also available in a black textured finish.
