NEW YORK, NY, February 17, 2010- Emerson, a drapery fabric that is part of an exclusive line of drapery and upholstery fabrics by Rodarte, the celebrated American fashion house of Kate and Laura Mulleavy, will preview as part of Quicktake: Rodarte, an exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York. The exhibition, which offers a glimpse into the Mulleavys' unique process and inspiration at an important point in their career, is on view at the Museum through March 14. Knoll Luxe joins Nordstrom and Vogue to support the exhibition.
"Rodarte's bold, visually arresting designs that combine intricate fabric treatments with haute couture techniques, translate beautifully to fabrics for residential settings", said Dorothy Cosonas, creative director, KnollTextiles and Knoll Luxe.
The Rodarte upholstery and drapery fabrics for Knoll Luxe, designed with contemporary interiors in mind, debut in May; the collection will be available through Knoll showrooms nationwide and the Knoll Luxe showroom in the D&D Building, New York.
"We are especially pleased, too, that the Cooper-Hewitt has selected several Rodarte fabric designs, including Emerson for Knoll Luxe, for its permanent collection," she added.
