East Greenville, PA, May 10, 2010KnollTextiles, a division of Knoll, Inc., will introduce textiles for workplace, healthcare and education environments as well as specialty products for residential and hospitality applications at NeoCon 2010, the contract industry trade show taking place in Chicago, June 14-16.
Upholstery and Wallcoverings by Dorothy Cosonas. Designed by Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas, this integrated collection of upholstery, healthcare privacy curtain and wallcovering fabrics combines classic colors, patterns and textures with modern fibers and extreme performance. NeoCon 2010 introductions include:
- The Voyage Collection. Roundtrip, Spectator and Entourage, three new solution dyed upholsteries, bring together beautiful design and durable, bleach cleanable fabrics textiles that are ideally suited for high traffic areas in healthcare, education and hospitality interiors.
- Performance Fabrics. Three new high-performance fabrics offer broad specification opportunities. Whip, a polyurethane upholstery, pairs the softness and grain of fine leather with high durability and saturated color. Courtship and Trace are two new textural fabrics for healthcare. Cosonas designed these patterns to have universal appeal, with calming textures and a hospitality-like palette. These fabrics can be used as privacy curtains, drapery or top-of-bed.
- RECORE Wallcoverings. The Gossip Collection debuts KnollTextiles' first RECORE wallcoverings, featuring the industry's "best in class" recycled wallcovering technology. The collection contains a minimum of 30% recycled content and includes classic, textural patterns.
Screenplay™ Environmental Technology Collection by Suzanne Tick. Designed by long time guest designer Suzanne Tick, this collection introduces the first 100% Earthtex® thermoplastic polyolefin multi-use fabric on the market. PVC-free construction provides an architectural aesthetic, as well as excellent acoustic properties, extreme durability and easy maintenance.
The collection can be used for wallcovering, wrapped acoustical panel and outdoor upholstery, and is available backed and unbacked. It includes: Box Office, a woven using a honeycomb weave that adds texture to the wall, and Genre, a perfect complement that uses a random weft weave to create a thick and thin horizontal rib. The Earthtex unbacked fibers were evaluated using the Cradle-to-Cradle standard by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry for its effect on human health and the environment. This product is also GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®.
Rodarte for Knoll Luxe. Rodarte the celebrated American fashion house of Kate and Laura Mulleavy, has created five upholstery and three drapery patterns for Knoll Luxe. This collection, Rodarte's first collaboration with Knoll, is an abstract translation of Rodarte's runway inspirations throughout its last 5 years. Rodarte is known for bold, visually arresting designs that combine intricate fabric treatments with old-world couture techniques.
"Since its inception, Knoll has worked with cutting-edge designersfrom Eero Saarinen to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe," says Knoll Luxe Creative Director Dorothy Cosonas." Collaborating with Rodarte, arguably the most innovative voice in the fashion world today, furthers Knoll's rich tradition."
