East Greenville, PA, June 3, 2009Knoll, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of branded furniture and textiles recognized for innovation and modern design, introduces a new series of stacking side and lounge chairs designed by Don Chadwick called Spark. The Spark series will debut at NeoCon 2009, the Chicago contract furniture industry trade exposition taking place June 1517.
The Spark series, designed for indoor and outdoor use, brings people together to spark conversation, ideas and imagination. Its bright colors and unique design give a spark of energy and excitement to every space. The series includes a four leg side chair and a sled base lounge chair.
Knoll Design Director Benjamin Pardo said, "Don Chadwick's design for Spark balances aesthetic and functional requirements, resulting in chairs that are pleasing to the eye, comfortable and efficient for general purpose use, stacking and storage."
He added, "Don worked within the architectural constraints of the chair without adding unnecessary embellishments or sacrificing comfort. Spark's subtle design allows it to change personality through color, texture and pattern. This subtlety brings an enduring quality to the design that is consistent with our modern design heritage at Knoll."
Spark is manufactured using an innovative coinjection molding process that delivers light, sturdy, easytoclean chairs ideal for corporate, healthcare, education, retail, restaurant and hospitality environments. Available in six colorsthree pop colors and three cool neutralsSpark's one piece construction, made of waterproof, UVprotected polypropylene, makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor environments.
The stacking capability and upholstered seat option for both the side and lounge chairs, as well as the ganging device for the side chair, allow Spark to fulfill multifunctional seating needs in offices, schools and healthcare organizations, including those for guest, conference, lounge, training, café and team activity areas.
Commenting on the range of opportunities Spark affords, Alana Stevens, Knoll Senior Marketing Director, said, "With its bright color options and approachable form, the unique personality of the Spark series ignites interest, setting it apart from the generic chairs that typify the stacking category."
The Spark series is lightweight, efficient in its use of materials and made for durability. Spark is seeking both SMaRT© Sustainable Product certification and GREENGUARD® certification.
