These products help define the physical landscape of today’s workplace as it transforms to support changing demographics, evolving technologies, and an ongoing shift to “distributed work" that combines areas for personal focus with shared spaces for group collaboration. Workstations can be planned to support three primary work modes: Focused, Shared, and Team.

Focused Planning

Allows individuals to concentrate on their work, while not being isolated from their colleagues.

Focused Planning achieves that blend with a range of worksurfaces, panels, modesty screens, and strategically placed storage to create varied levels of privacy in the open plan.

Shared Planning

Supports two or three people who work together frequently and benefit from planned and spontaneous collaboration.

Spine-based systems with moveable screens and freestanding furniture enable work groups to readily reconfigure their space as needs change, without disrupting the power and data infrastructure.

Shared work can also be facilitated by adjacent desktops and an extension top for occasional visitors. Storage elements and panels are commonly used to establish the boundaries of shared work areas.

Team Planning

Integrates primary workstations and collaborative spaces for larger groups in constant communication.

A 'big table' configuration encourages free and frequent exchange between a team of four to eight people. Nearby standing-height tables and lower storage islands offer alternative, casual group work settings.

The continuous, cantilevered tops of a classic bench plan, patterned after a conference table, accommodate any number of users and are ideal for free-address facilities. Parallel standing-height counters house group and individual storage.

Technology spines, with translucent glass above desk height, distribute power, data, and communications, while forming the boundaries of a team workspace. As self-supporting power and data management channels, Fence and Horsepower® allow freestanding desks and independent storage to be rearranged as teams require.
