Architectural Digest and leading design blogs feature Prism™, David Adjaye's trio of sculptural lounge pieces, in this month's coverage. The November issue of Architectural Digest spotlights the Prism Lounge Chair in an exclusive feature in the magazine's "Most Wanted" section.
"With Prism...I wanted to reference the weight and mass of the idea of monument," says Adjaye, quoted in the designboom piece.
Prism completes The Washington Collection, David Adjaye's 2013 debut with Knoll, although it was one of Adjaye's earliest designs. The newest addition is marketedly different in formal language from the slender balancing act of Washington Skin and Washington Skeleton, but, like the rest of the collection, continues the architect's fascinations with the contradictions and relationships to natural geometries and the quality of light. Prism comprises a lounge chair, ottoman and side table.
