“David Adjaye: Form, Heft, Material” Opens at Haus der Kunst in Germany January 30, 2015

“David Adjaye: Form, Heft, Material,” a new exhibition on the architectural designs of Knoll designer and architect David Adjaye, opens at at Haus der Kunst in Germany January 30, 2015. The exhibition will celebrate approximately 50 projects – from luxury shops and museums to libraries and social housing.
The survey exhibition, the most extensive of Adjaye's career, is organized by Haus der Kunst and Art Institute of Chicago. It is curated by Okwui Enwezor, director of Haus der Kunst, Munich, and Zoë Ryan, John H. Bryan Chair and Curator of Architecture and Design at the Art Institute of Chicago.
A number lectures and receptions in English will be held in conjunction with the exhibition including; "Role Models: Approximations to David Adjaye,” a lecture by Nikolaus Hirsch with respondent Okwui Enwezor on March 5 at 7pm; "Form, Heft, Material — Works 2000-2014" a lecture by David Adjaye on April 9 at 7pm; and a seminar by David Adjaye and Okwui Enwezor on April 10, 2014 from 10am – 2pm.
David Adjaye’s Washington Collection for Knoll™ which will be expanded this spring to include a new club chair, ottoman and side table, currently features the Washington Skeleton™ chair, Washington Skin™ Chair and Washington Corona™ coffee table.
“David Adjaye: Form, Heft, Material” will be on display at Haus der Kunst, located at Haus der Kunst Prinzregentenstraße 1 in Munich, from March 1 through May 31, 2015.
