Dezeen and Designboom Showcase the Washington Collection™ for Knoll

September 9, 2013

The Washington Collection for Knoll™ by David Adjaye , which consists of two cantilevered side chairs, a club chair, ottoman, side table and coffee table, is celebrated by design blogs Dezeen and Designboom in September 5, 2013 articles.

The online articles highlight the collection’s two cantilevered chairs, which are currently on preview at knoll.com. Distinguished by the intricate geometric, lattice work on its seat and back, the Washington Skeleton™ Chair is just that – a skeleton. Its design is the exact inverse of the Washington Skin™ Chair, which features a solid, nylon frame a complimenting lattice detail on the underside of the chair’s seat and back.

“David Adjaye’s first foray into furniture transform his architectural vision into accessible design for the home,” writes Designboom’s Adrea Chin.

The Washington Corona™ Table is constructed from four cast bronze panels and limited to an edition of 75 to mark the Knoll 75th anniversary.

“Adjaye recently designed an observatory and education centre with spiraling stone walls to be built on an island in the English Channel [as well as] a silk-weaving facility in India,” notes Alyn Griffiths of Dezeen.

Customers and designers can register at knoll.com to be the first to place their orders when the collection goes on sale in October. The Washington Collection™ for Knoll will be available exclusively online at knoll.com and at the Knoll Home Design Shop in New York City, 212-343-4190.
