NEW YORK, New York, February 25, 2014 – For Spring 2014, KnollTextiles presents the Empire Collection. Comprised of woven wallcovering, drapery and performance upholstery, this collection has a dynamic range of options for interiors. All made in the USA, designed by the KnollTextiles team.
Bleach Cleanable Upholstery
KnollTextiles is pleased to introduce three new high performance upholstery patterns to the line, which combine durability and choice in terms of color, pattern and texture. All three patterns exceed 100,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek and are an excellent choice for hospitality, healthcare and education settings, as well as corporate.
Hudson. This midscale multicolor pattern is an excellent palette builder. Gradations of color on top of a saturated ground create depth, which reads beautifully from a distance. Note: pattern shown on a chair by Martin Brattrud. Made of 78% Recycled polyester, 22% Nylon.
Durand. This geometric pattern was created with a boucle-like yarn, giving it a natural hand. The palette ranges from soft neutrals to bolder color combinations like #5 – lime, orange and gray add a fresh yet retro feel. Color #1 is a soft, sophisticated color combination that easily works in corporate or residential. Made of 39% Polyester, 37% Recycled polyester, 24% Nylon.
Milestone. A classic, saturated upholstery that can read as either a texture or a stripe. Each of the nine distinct colorways contains an element of surprise – a play between different yarn sizes and subtle accent colors like orange and lilac, which add texture and depth to the palette. 77% Recycled polyester, 23% Nylon.
In addition to the bleach-cleanable fabrics, the collection includes Riverside, a graphic striped drapery created with a Trieste yarn, which adds subtle color variation throughout the pattern. This two-ply yearn includes a high luster gold metallic thread. Made of 88% Polyester, 12% FR polyester.
Wallcoverings
Cortland. This classic textural wallcovering features a subtle honeycomb weave that recalls the archival work of Anne Beetz, who designed fabrics in the 1980s for KnollTextiles. It has a Crypton Wall finish, providing stain and moisture resistance for added performance.
Capital. This wallcovering reads as an all-over texture or pattern, depending on the colorway chosen. In colors 5 and 6, geometric patterning is visible and provides added interest on a wall or acoustic panel. 100% Polyester, Teflon® soil and stain repellent finish. Can also be used for wrapped wall panels.
