Wallpaper magazine features the Washington Collection for Knoll™ by David Adjaye in its November 2013 issue. A photo of the aluminum Washington Skeleton™ chair, a sketch by David Adjaye, highlighting the unique lattice design of the Washington Skeleton™ chair and the Washington Skin™ chair, and a model of the monumental Washington Corona™ table, a Wallpaper magazine exclusive, are included in Shelf Life, a monthly pieces that serves as “an international edit of design products and objects from around the world.”
Distinguished by the intricate geometric, lattice work on its seat and back, the Washington Skeleton™ Chair is just that – a skeleton. Its design is the exact inverse of the Washington Skin™ Chair, which features a solid, nylon frame that includes a complimenting lattice detail on the underside of the chair’s seat and back.
The Washington Corona™ Table is constructed from four cast bronze panels and limited to an edition of 75 to mark the Knoll 75th anniversary.
The side chairs and table debuted in New York City in October 2013 and in Europe in November. In 2014, the collection will be expanded to include a club chair and side tables.
