WIRED, the monthly technology and culture magazine, circulation 917,580, spotlights Remix® in its February 2016 issue. "Fetish: Do the Twist" outlines the work unique chair's design, which makes use of an innovative layering of technical materials to optimize torsional movement, ergonomic support and the "cozy luxury" that is often missing in similar high-performance chairs. Remix received Best of NeoCon Gold in the Ergonomic Desk/Task Chairs category in 2014.
"Knoll knows that most professionals are largely chair-bound," the piece reads. "But that doesn't mean we sit still. We twist, turn and fidget.... Key to...Remix is tech that lets it flex with your body instead of fighting it."
Designed by New Zealand-based Formway Design and introduced at NeoCon 2014, Remix is actually a family of chairs. In addition to the work chair that WIRED featured, the Remix family includes a high back chair and a side chair.
Formway Design has earned a reputation for pushing the envelope in terms of how we understand ergonomic seating, and what we expect from a work chair. The designers' collaboration with Knoll began with the highly successful Life chair, celebrated for its slim profile, intuitive adjustments and sustainable production. Award-winning Generation by Knoll®, ReGeneration by Knoll® and Remix – all of which follow the dictum that truly supportive chairs are active ones – followed suit.
