Featured in nearly all Florence Knoll-designed interiors, the Saarinen Executive Chair remains one of the most popular Knoll pieces. Introduced in 1950, the chair transformed the notion of what executive seating could be with its sculptural form and modern finishing. Eero Saarinen

Born to architect Eliel Saarinen and textile artist Loja Saarinen, Eero Saarinen grew up surrounded by design. He studied sculpture in Paris, architecture at Yale, and design at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where he and Florence Knoll became lifelong collaborators and friends. Eero designed many of Knoll’s most iconic pieces, as well as several architectural triumphs worldwide.
