Core77 and Design Milk Feature Barber Osgerby Designs for Knoll

Knoll in the News

Designs by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, the pair whose Lounge Collection for Knoll was introduced last year, are featured in Core77 and Design Milk this month. Both pieces highlight Barber & Osgerby's designs for Knoll.

Core77 featured an image of Barber & Osgerby's Pilot Chair, which Knoll debuted at the 54th Annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile in April this year. The Pilot Chair is a modern and innovative lounge chair with a striking, contemporary form suited to executive and home seating. It joins the pair's collection of sofas, armchairs and ottomans for Knoll. The chair will make its debut in Chicago next week at NeoCon, the annual contract trade show.

The designers discussed a range of topics with Core77, ranging from everyday habits to treasured tools. Asked about the best part of the job, Jay Osgerby replied: "The sheer diversity. Every single day is totally different; every hour is different." Edward Barber said, simply: "Designing."

Knoll in LA Times

Design Milk spotlighted Barber Osgerby Height-Adjustable Stools from the designers' series of stools and side tables, which join the Barber Osgerby Lounge Collection. Conceived of as a complement to the sofas as well as to stand alone, the stools reinterpret the industry-inspired tripod base in a lightweight, conical form. The stools were praised in April by Daily AD, Architectural Digest's blog.
