Jim Dates, co-founder of DatesWeiser, Passes Away at Age 67

Today, Knoll remembers the life of Jim Dates, co-founder of DatesWeiser who passed on Sunday, February 9 from vascular disease in his brain. Dates co-founded DatesWeiser with Alan Weiser in 1982. The company, renowned for creating signature spaces with refined and flexible conference furniture, originally started in Jim Dates parents’ garage and has since grown into one of the leading corporate interior furniture companies for executive, meeting and client-facing areas. Knoll acquired DatesWeiser in 2016.

Commenting on Jim Dates’ legacy, Weiser said, “He was an extraordinary craftsman and a truly authentic and humble man with a deep and understated wisdom and a dry sense of humor.”
