KnollTextiles Presents the Midtown Collection

November 20, 2013

NEW YORK, New York, November 20, 2013 – For early Winter 2013, KnollTextiles presents the Midtown Collection. Designed in honor of Knoll’s move from Chelsea to Midtown Manhattan, this introduction includes a lot of “steak” – foundation textiles for walls as well as upholstery, with a rich, saturated palette of clean, clear color. Included are 3 fabrics from the KT Collection of affordable modern design, which were created in particular for high performance and high durability. The collection includes five new upholsteries (including six new colors for Ultrasuede) and two new wallcoverings. Details on the textile introductions are below.

Upholstery
Journey is the KT Collection’s interpretation of a classic bouclé fabric. This fabric has a soft hand and is made of 50% recycled polyester. Available in a wide range of 18 colors including classic mid-tones and saturated brights like pink and yellow. Exceeds 100,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek.

Part of the KT Collection, Rush Hour is a subtle texture with a slight figure eight pattern. It uses a high sheen twist yarns to create a two-tone effect. Made of 81% Polyester, 18% Acrylic, 1% Nylon; exceeds 80,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek.

Another addition to the KT Collection, Commuter Cloth is a piece dyed fabric that uses a resist yarn to create a two-toned effect -- meaning that two separate yarns take on the dye differently, creating two distinct tones within a single dye bath. Made of 75% Post-consumer recycled content, this “new classic” comes in a range of clean, clear, saturated colors. Exceeds 70,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek.

Tilden is a polyurethane upholstery that contains a subtle undulating stripe, giving it texture and dimension. Tilden is made with Cleangene technology, which means that it is stain resistant, highly durable, and bleach solution cleanable. This makes it an excellent choice for hospitality and healthcare. Exceeds 100,000 double rubs Wyzenbeek.

Six new colors round out the KnollTextile offering for 2013, making it 97 total Ultrasuede skus. Ultrasuede is an environmental all-star: benefits include multi-use, 80% post-industrial recycled content, over 200,000 double rubs, and easy cleanability. It can also be used for wallcovering and wrapped acoustical panels.

Wallcoverings
The new performance wallcoverings from KnollTextiles provide a sophisticated texture as the backdrop for any room:

Express is an understated texture that seams beautifully. Made of 78% Recycled polyester, 22% Polyester, with Crypton® wall finish.

Transfer uses a sophisticated twist yarn to create an elegant grasscloth-type fabric. Made of 100% Polyester, with Teflon® soil and stain repellent.
