Masamichi Udagawa and Sigi Moeslinger of Antenna Design met with members of the West Coast design community September 16 – 19, 2014 at the Knoll Seattle Showroom and at the Portland, Oregon offices of Environments, a Knoll dealer.
During the visits, Udagawa and Moeslinger discussed their approach to product design from concept to launch. They also presented an overview of the Antenna Design firm and its work for Knoll, as well as their design inspiration.
The duo is behind a range of Knoll introductions for the open plan office and Activity Spaces, including Antenna® Worspaces, an innovative system that links desks, storage and returns to create private and open plan offices. Other designs for Knoll include Toboggan®, Interpole™ and the Sparrow™ Desktop Light.
Masamichi Udagawa, a Cranbrook Academy graduate, and Sigi Moeslinger, who holds degrees from NYU and Art Center College of Design, founded Antenna Design in 1997. The firm’s "people-centered design approach aims to make the experience of objects and environments more meaningful and exciting."
