New York – NY – KnollTextiles introduces the New Fundamentals Collection, where beauty and performance converge. A focus on innovative materials defines this multi-disciplined offering of high durability upholstery, acoustic drapery, and PVC-free wallcovering that exceeds the demands of today's high traffic interiors.
The collection begins with three bleach-cleanable upholsteries. Off The Grid was inspired by design elements in antique woven coverlets. Our modern translation is all about bold geometry executed as a multicolor pattern. A hybrid polyurethane and silicone platform test to 200,000 double rubs while also providing exceptional color clarity, depth, and texture.
Corduroy has always been a luxurious and functional fabric- strong, durable, and soft. It has a long and varied history with origins in ancient Egypt and enjoyed popularity in the court of King Henry VIII. It was a work-horse material during the Industrial Revolution and had long-standing associations with all things academic. Now, corduroy, in its latest guise, sometimes referred to as "the new velvet," is a practical and plush celebration of effortless chic.
Cozy Cord, the first corduroy in our line, brings a trending fashion statement to interiors as an elegant but casual upholstery with Crypton® performance at a KT Collection price point ($29/ yard).
Texnet takes the idea of a foundation product to a new level. The textured premium polyurethane comprises four layers of material, resulting in a unified system that assures strength and longevity. This leather-like upholstery is supple and soft in a beautiful range of 13 colors.
Off The Grid, Texnet, and Cozy Cord are Intertek Clean Air Gold Certified.
Chill is the latest addition to our growing line of acoustic sheers. With an impressive 0.60 NRC (@ 100% fullness), double-width Chill offers sound absorption with a crisp, dry hand, subtle sheen, and an expanded palette, including a rich green and blue.
The New Fundamental Collection introduces two PVC-free high-performance wallcoverings. Ramble is woven polyester fused with Tekloom® thermoplastic film. In addition to Type II characteristics like being washable and scrubbable, Ramble also has an impressive list of sustainable attributes like being LBC Red List chemical-free and Prop 65 complaint.
Plaid Impact is our first PVC-free Type III wallcovering. Inspired by a vintage fashion design, the ethereal, organic plaid is puncture, tear, scratch, stain, and chemical resistant. It is also Intertek Clean Air Gold certified, Health Care Without Harm, and Prop 65 compliant. Plaid Impact is made in the USA.
Off the Grid K1159
Off The Grid is a geometric pattern inspired by archival coverlets. A unique polyurethane and silicone hybrid platform test to 200,000 double rubs. The mill developed a proprietary transfer printing process that provides color clarity, depth and texture within the four-color pattern. A linen-like emboss enhances Off The Grid’s textile-like appearance.
Texnet is premium polyurethane upholstery comprised of four layers of material, resulting in a unified system that assures strength and longevity. The combination of artisanal processes and innovative technology yields performance with a soft hand. The four-layer proprietary construction is one of a kind. Texnet has a woven appearance, and a subtle shimmer offers an elevated level of tactile appeal.
