Mercy Health – West Hospital is a new 250 bed , 625,000-square-foot hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Designed by Champlin Architecture and AECOM with Mic Johnson, FAIA, lead designer, the space takes a new approach to healthcare architecture, balancing beauty, culture and function to set a new standard for hospital design.
At Mercy West, a combination of centralized and decentralized nursing stations help keep nurses closer to patients. The hospital worked with Knoll dealer RJE Business Interiors to select a mix of Dividends Horizon® workstations and Series 2™ storage elements supported by the AutoStrada® spine wall. The spine wall, which features a custom foot rail, is designed to house all power and data, hiding unsightly wiring and making changes in workstation configuration fast and easy.
The hospital also selected Generation by Knoll® for its comfort, cleanability in a healthcare setting, and warranty. The award-winning Generation by Knoll® offers freedom of movement with an elastomeric Flex Back and a Flex Seat with unobstructed seat edges for 270 degrees of sitting. ReGeneration by Knoll® in support areas features a straightforward design that leverages flexible, durable and sustainable materials.
