Design writer Tim McKeough highlights design in “Shopping for Swivel Chairs”

The New York Times featured the recently introduced KN Low Back Lounge Chair in its September 28 Weekend Edition. In his recurring series within the Real Estate section, design writer Tim McKeough spotlighted the lounge chair by Piero Lissoni in “Shopping for Swivel Chairs,” deeming the Italian architect’s design among the best. “There are many good reasons to buy a swivel chair,” writes McKeough. “In particular, ease of movement.”

For an expert opinion on what qualities make a great swivel chair, McKeough turned to interior designer Ghislaine Viñas. “They’re fun. I’ve put them in family lofts where the kids just use them as entertainment,” states Viñas to The New York Times. According to Viñas, a great swivel chair combines flexibility, comfort and a sense of play while also providing the user with multiple viewpoints and ease of movement within a room — all qualities exemplified by the KN Collection.

Knoll introduced the KN Collection — which includes a high and low back lounge chair as well as an ottoman — in June 2019. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the KN Collection combines the architect’s nuanced sense of proportion and exquisite detailing in a design that navigates seamlessly between the home and workplace.
