The workforce is changing and so is the way work is executed. Increasingly mobile and cloud-based, today’s corporate campuses must evolve the office to retain talent and maximize productivity. Barry Richards, Principal and Studio Leader of the Rockwell Group, and Tracy Wymer, Knoll Vice President of Workplace Strategy, discussed these very changes at the San Francisco-based architectural firm O + A. The firm, which focuses on workplace planning and design, hosted Richards and Wymer at their studio for a presentation and discussion on both the Rockwell Group’s design principles and workspace environments.
Wymer and Richards drew concrete examples of how to address the evolving workplace from the latest workplace collection from Knoll – Rockwell Unscripted from the Rockwell Group. Debuted in 2017, Rockwell Unscripted addresses the evolving and multifaceted nature of modern workplace design. Individual pieces come together to create the space best suited for the type of work at hand. Inspired by David Rockwell’s own background in designing both theater and hospitality, Rockwell Unscripted creates an unrivaled work experience designed to let spontaneity unfold and people complete the story.
O + A is a San Francisco-based architectural firm that focuses on modern workspace design with an emphasis on experiences and storytelling. In 2017, O + A participated at Salone del Mobile’s Workplace 3.0 exhibition showcasing the leading designers of workplace.
