New York Magazine Shoots One Last Meal in Saarinen's TWA Terminal

Saarinen Designs for Knoll are Featured

New York Magazine TWA TerminalNew York Magazine's annual Food & Drink issue features two Knoll designs by Eero Saarinen in a one-of-a-kind photoshoot in the architect's historic TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The photoshoot by Douglas Friedman appears in the current issue's spread "Rack of Lamb for Two in the Historic TWA Terminal."

The spread documents the special dinner prepared by chefs Walker Stern and Joseph Ogrodneck of Dover and Battersby for former TWA flight attendant Paula Grant and her husband, Dr. James Grant. Ms. Grant had not visited the vacant terminal for nearly thirty years.

Designed by Eero Saarinen and completed posthumously in 1962, the TWA Flight Center is a landmark of the jet age and testament to the late architect's engineering and spatial mastery. Restored and listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the building is now set to be turned into the airport's first luxury hotel.
