EAST GREENVILLE, Pa., November 27, 2019—Knoll, Inc. (NYSE: KNL), a constellation of design-driven brands for the workplace and home will exhibit Four Trees—the 2004 work by American landscape and architectural photographer Andrew Moore—in its New York Home Design Shop for the 2019 holiday season. The photograph, enlarged as a monumental lightbox mural, depicts a quartet of evergreen trees in a snow-covered landscape. Serene, yet active in the subtle contortions of the four figures, Moore’s work instantly evokes a sense of place and spirit of the season in its starkly white composition.
Born in Connecticut in 1957, Andrew Moore lives and works in Newburgh, New York. His photographs, often large-scale and distinctly colorful, investigate and challenge a linear understanding of time as well as the effect of time on natural and urban landscapes—a theme present in Four Trees. Taking a documentary-style approach to photography and video art, Moore’s portfolio of work includes landscapes and structures in Cuba, Russia and the Great Plains of the American West.
Like those before it, the New York Home Design Shop Four Trees installation celebrates contemporary art and reflects the spirit of the holiday season. Moore’s photograph will be on display until December 31, 2019.
