EAST GREENVILLE, Pa., October 31, 2019 -- Knoll, Inc. (NYSE: KNL), a constellation of design-driven brands for the workplace and home, announced today it will host Design Files: New Ideas for Living—Furniture to Time Pieces, a conversation between designers Jonathan Olivares and Ini Archibong moderated by Christie Hayden, Writer and Founder of Oof Books. The program will take place at the Knoll Los Angeles Home Design Shop in West Hollywood.
Based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, designer Ini Archibong has a diverse portfolio of furniture, timepieces and art objects that draw inspiration from mathematics, philosophy, art and world religions. The son of Nigerian immigrants, Archibong lives between the United States, Singapore and Switzerland, nodding to his distinctly rich cultural experiences while celebrating functional beauty in his work.
Jonathan Olivares, founder of Jonathan Olivares Design Research (JODR), designed the Olivares Aluminum Chair for Knoll in 2012. Olivares’ work engages a legacy of form and technology, asking to be used rather than observed.
Together, the two leading contemporary designers will discuss their shared sources of inspiration and distinct perspectives on each topic—from fashion to art, and beyond—as well as how they translate inspiration into a visibly and philosophically fulfilled design across multiple product categories. Christie Hayden, Writer and Founder of Oof Books, will serve as the program moderator.
